Hello World
My name is David Fisher. Here is my current events blog. It is titled 'View from the Cold' due to the fact that many other names were taken, and I reside in Boston, Massachusetts USA and it is more often than not very cold here.
Here I will be expressing my views on politics, current events, news (worldwide and in the States). What you (hopefully) will not find here will be personal whinings, or things about how my day went. Please feel free to discuss any post with each other.
Some groundwork:
- I promise to report things as fairly as possible. If there are inaccuracies at any point in the facts, or news that is presented then I apologize in advance. I hope that this is more factual than Faux news at least.
- I promise to acknowledge the view of the other side. No story has only one side that is right.
- I promise respond to any intellgent email sent to me, granting time constraints.
- I make my mind today to change it tomorrow. I will be wrong, and I will change my opinion. No intellgent mind can go through life claiming to know everything ahead of time. As I am presented with new information and facts about something, I may and probably will alter my view on it. So should you. It's called learning and growth. Remember when girls had coodies? Well it's fine that you thought that when you were seven, but now you aren't and you have learned that girls do not have coodies. Some have STDs, but few have coodies.
All things come with bias of course. To get a small sense of what biases I may hold here is a little about me.
I live in Boston. Boston is a very liberal city and I count myself a member of that population. I do acknowledge the other side for many things, and will at least hear them out as long as their reasoning has solid logic and facts backing it.
I went to school for music. Also a very liberal field these days.
I am relatively young, in my early 20s. I have still yet to learn many things about the world.
I am rather undecided on my religous and spritual views. I feel that believing in something is good for many people, but it has also misled many people. I am also rather skeptical about things that I feel can be easily explained with logic. I know that religion plays a huge part in many people's lives and try to understand that colouring of their view.
Well here we go! Enjoy. Post. Argue. Call me wrong. I would like to proved wrong most days and learn something than be right all of the time.
Oh, one other thing- after High School the quality of my technical grammer skills has deteriorated for writing. We can't all be perfect, so bear with me.
